Compensation Range: Between $39,000 - $72,000 CDN annually
The Electronics Manufacturing Technician (Soldering Focus) is responsible for supporting production and engineering activities through precision soldering, cable assembly, electronic repair, and test hardware fabrication.

This role ensures high-quality deliverables by manufacturing cables, reworking non-conformance (NCR) items and building engineering test solutions.

The position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, supporting program delivery, and enabling engineering development efforts.

All work is performed in accordance with J-STD-001 soldering standards and IPC-A-610 inspection criteria.

Essential Functions: Perform precision hand soldering in accordance with J-STD-001 on electronic assemblies, including through-hole and surface mount components
Manufacture and assemble cable harnesses and other deliverable products per drawings and specifications
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair non-conformance (NCR) items, including electronic assemblies and related hardware
Build and assemble engineering test boxes and prototype hardware based on engineering instructions
Interpret technical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and bills of materials




Ensure all work meets IPC-A-610 inspection and acceptability criteria, as well as customer and internal quality standards
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, defects identified, and repairs completed
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency and product quality
Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-compliant workstation while following all safety procedures
Qualifications: College degree or technical diploma in electronics or other related field
Working knowledge of J-STD-001 soldering requirements
Demonstrated experience in hand soldering and electronic assembly in a manufacturing or lab environment, including through-hole and SMT components
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies and related hardware
Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeter, power supply)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise, high-quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
J-STD-001 certification
Experience working with IPC-A-610 inspection criteria
Wire wrapping experience
Familiarity with failure analysis and root cause investigation techniques
Experience supporting engineering prototype builds or test equipment fabrication
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
Eligibility Criteria: Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;




Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
