Job Summary The Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring individuals facing serious illness, and the people who care for them, have access to compassionate, practical and emotional support. As our programs grow, we’re seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and proactive Volunteer and Program Coordinator to help recruit, support and coordinate our incredible team of volunteers. This part-time position combines volunteer management with program coordination.

Duties

- Recruiting, onboarding, and supervise volunteers to ensure they are engaged, informed, and motivated to contribute effectively.
- Develop and implement volunteer programs that align with organizational goals and community needs.
- Coordinate and oversee program activities, ensuring smooth execution from planning through evaluation.
- Lead public speaking engagements and outreach efforts to promote programs and recruit new volunteers.
- Manage project timelines and resources using effective project management techniques.
- Collect and analyze data related to program participation, outcomes, and volunteer engagement to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with staff and community partners to enhance program visibility through marketing strategies.
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to volunteer hours, program metrics, and participant feedback.

Qualifications

- Proven supervising experience with volunteers or team members in a community or organizational setting.



Preferably experience includes volunteer coordination or nonprofit work, healthcare, hospice or community programs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated project management skills with experience in planning, executing, and evaluating programs.
- Knowledge of marketing principles for outreach and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, foster collaboration, and drive organizational goals.
- Experience in data collection methods and utilizing data for reporting purposes.
- Excellent administrative skills including record keeping, scheduling, and correspondence management.
- Background in recruiting volunteers or staff through various channels such as social media or community events.
- Teaching experience is a plus for training volunteers or conducting educational workshops.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- A compassionate professional demeanour including strong qualities of empathy, dependability, and collaboration.
