Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture is seeking Lounge Hosts to join the Sportsview team. Working under the direction of the Team Leader, Hosts are responsible for serving, cleaning, dishwashing, and assisting with the kitchen as needed. Our Auxiliary staff enjoy a free Staff Pass when they work one shift per week, flexibility in hours to accommodate different lifestyles, a culture that cares about work-life balance, and 14% pay on top of their hourly wage in lieu of benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a point of contact for food and beverage sales.
Maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the public area at all times, clearing tables, removing and washing dishes, wiping tabletops and other surfaces and restocking food and beverage display areas as needed.
Assists customers in a warm and friendly manner, answering questions about menu choices.
Handles money and payments for services in an efficient and business-like manner.
Operates a POS station and all other equipment associated with food facilities.
Adheres to all safety standards and regulations for the benefit of patrons.
Maintains records pertaining to bar stock.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous bartending experience.
Previous experience in a restaurant or similar food service facility.
POS experience.
Food Secure Level 1 certification.
Serving It Right certification.
Provision of a current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Note: This is the applicant’s financial responsibility to obtain this).
HOURS OF WORK
Monday-Sunday, various hours between 7:00am-10:00pm; up to 25hrs/week as required. Work hours may vary based on operational requirements.

$21.80 ($19.12 per hour plus $2.68 per hour in lieu of benefits) – 2026 rates
