As a member of the Bylaw Services Team, the Auxiliary Animal Control Officer conducts inspections and investigates complaints related to animal control. Your role involves significant public interaction, requiring independent judgment and effective communication skills. This creative position prioritizes community safety while working flexibly across various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections related to animal control bylaws
• Educate the public on responsible pet ownership
• Support Bylaw Enforcement Officers when required
• Exercise tact and diplomacy in all interactions
• Conduct administrative tasks supporting animal control
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement Training (Level I & II)
• Valid BC driver’s licence and clear abstract
• Conflict resolution training
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification
