Position Summary The Intensive Care Unit is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Ward Clerk to join their Team.

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

Department/Unit/Program Description The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) serves mainly cardiac, medical, and surgical patients requiring close monitoring and observation. Admissions to ICU occur when an individual experiences a heart attack, chest pain, difficulty breathing, and if intensive observation is required. Patients are closely monitored using special equipment in a quiet atmosphere.

Essential Qualifications

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Medical Ward Clerk course or Medical Office Assistant Certificate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word,



Excel and Data Entry
- Minimum of 1 year clerical support experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and courteously with all levels of hospital staff, patients and public
- Excellent professional telephone manner skills
- Demonstrated organizational, communication and time management skills
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a hospital environment, an asset

Hours of Work

Must be available to work day shifts, Monday to Friday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
