Ducta Water Systems
Calgary
Experienced Water Softener & Filtration Installer
Calgary, AB & Surrounding Area
Pay: $30.00–$36.00 per hour, based on experience
About the Role
Ducta Water Systems is a new and growing local water treatment company serving Calgary and the surrounding area.
We install whole-home water softeners, filtration systems, and reverse osmosis drinking water systems for homeowners.
We're looking for a reliable, experienced installer who is confident with residential plumbing and water treatment equipment.
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who can complete clean, professional installations, troubleshoot issues when they come up, and represent our company well inside a customer's home.
The position will begin with approximately 1–3 installs per week, with a clear path to more consistent hours and full-time work as our installation volume grows.
We're investing heavily into growing the business, and our goal is to build a strong installation team as demand increases. We're looking for someone who wants to get in early and grow with us.
What You'll Be Doing
You will primarily be responsible for:
- Installing whole-home water softeners
- Installing whole-home filtration and carbon filtration systems
- Installing under-sink 5-stage reverse osmosis systems
- Completing residential plumbing tie-ins and connections
- Installing drains, bypasses, shut-offs, fittings, and associated plumbing
- Working with common residential piping such as PEX and copper
- Testing systems for leaks, pressure, drainage, and proper operation
- Programming and configuring water treatment equipment when required
- Troubleshooting installation or equipment issues
- Keeping installation areas clean and organized
- Explaining basic system operation to homeowners after installation
- Taking completion photos and documenting work when required
- Providing a professional and friendly customer experience
A typical standard installation takes approximately 3–4 hours, although some jobs may require additional time depending on the existing plumbing and scope of work.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can work independently and take pride in doing the job properly.
The ideal candidate has
- Previous experience installing water softeners, filtration systems, reverse osmosis systems, or similar equipment
- Strong residential plumbing experience
- Experience working with PEX, copper, and common plumbing fittings
- Ability to make clean, professional plumbing connections
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to assess existing plumbing and determine the best installation approach
- Experience installing drains, bypasses, shut-offs, and related components
- Good attention to detail
- Clean and organized workmanship
- Strong communication skills
- A professional and respectful attitude when working inside customers' homes
- Ability to safely lift and move water treatment equipment
- Your own professional tools
- Reliable transportation
- Strong reliability and punctuality
Journeyperson plumbing certification, plumbing apprenticeship experience, or other relevant trade experience is a strong asset, but proven hands-on water treatment and installation experience is especially important to us.
Compensation
$30.00–$36.00 per hour
Pay will depend on your experience, plumbing ability, water treatment knowledge, and ability to independently complete high-quality installations.
Schedule
This role will initially involve approximately 1–3 installation jobs per week.
We are looking for someone who can generally accommodate installations with approximately 48–72 hours' notice.
We understand that experienced installers may already have other work,
so we can offer flexibility while our installation volume grows.
As the company scales, there is a clear opportunity for:
- More consistent weekly hours
- Increased installation volume
- Full-time employment
- Additional responsibility and advancement
- Increased compensation for the right person
What We Provide
- All water treatment systems
- Filters and equipment
- Installation materials required for each customer job
- Scheduled customer installations
- No selling or lead generation required
- Flexible scheduling
- Growing and increasingly consistent workload
- Opportunity to grow with a new Calgary water treatment company
The installer should have their own professional tools and reliable transportation. The Person We're Looking For
We're especially interested in someone who:
Shows up on time. Does clean work. Doesn't cut corners. Can troubleshoot without needing constant supervision. And knows how to treat a customer's home with respect.
If you're an experienced water treatment or plumbing professional looking for versatile, well-paid installation work with the opportunity to grow into something long term, we'd like to hear from you.
To Apply
Please send us a short summary outlining:
- Your water treatment installation experience
- Your plumbing experience
- How many years you've been installing
- The types of softeners, filtration systems, or RO systems you've worked with
- Whether you have your own tools
- Whether you have reliable transportation
- Your general availability
If available, please include photos of previous water softener, filtration, or RO installations you've completed.
