Summary of Position

Reporting to the project Foreman, this position will assist the Pipelayer and crew members to perform all water and sewer activities in a safe and efficient manner.

Role and Responsibilities

- Assist in aligning pipes during water main and sewer construction
- Load and unload tools, materials and equipment
- Mix, pour, cut and perform other concrete related tasks
- Operate industrial equipment and hand tools
- Perform manual and physically demanding labour duties as assigned
- Signal and direct equipment operators
- lift and transport plywood and air struts




- dig around pipe and/or utilities
- Roll pump hoses, operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed
- Rig up chains and straps to transfer manhole material

Qualifications, Training and Education
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided
- Class 5 Driver’s license
- Confined Space Entry/Monitor
- Fall Protection
- H2S Alive
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015

Working Conditions A Pipelayer Helper is responsible for performing physically demanding work in different positions (kneeling, standing, etc.). They are working outdoors in dusty and underground environments through all kinds of weather
