L. A. Steel Group is a structural steel fabricator and erector serving the Industrial, Commercial, Multi-Residential construction sectors in Southern and Central Ontario. Projects range in size from stairs and railings to structural steel for multi-storey commercial buildings. We are seeking an individual to join our team in the position of Fitter/Welder. We are looking for a self starter to join the shop and enhance our team. Relevant experience required and pay based on experience.

Shop location: Port Colborne

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Layout, fit and weld various structural and miscellaneous steel components (ie. beams, columns, frames, stairs, railings, etc.)
- Verify accuracy and completeness of finished product
- Ensure a secure working environment at all times

SCHEDULE

- Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm
- Occasional overtime

QUALIFICATIONS





- Experience in Structural Steel industry required
- Experience with FCAW & SMAW Welding - current or recently expired tickets required
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, understand welding symbols
- Experience using bandsaw, cold saw, mag drill, iron worker, punch, shear, etc.
- Overhead crane and lift truck experience, certifications preferred
- Work independently as well as part of team
- Dependable, safety oriented
- Additional skills considered an asset:

Forklift training, overhead crane training, Working at Heights certification, WHMIS

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
