Advertek is expanding to Burlington and is looking for an experienced Wide Format Operator to join our growing production team.

Working in our advanced graphics production department, you'll operate state-of-the-art wide format printing and finishing equipment to produce high-quality signage, displays, wall graphics, décor, and specialty applications. This role requires strong attention to detail, colour accuracy, and the ability to manage a variety of substrates and finishing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, operate, and maintain wide format printing equipment to produce high-quality graphics and displays.
- Operate HP, Agfa, and other wide format printing technologies to produce a variety of applications.
- Review job tickets, artwork files, production specifications, and finishing requirements.
- Perform colour checks and quality inspections to ensure output meets customer expectations.
- Load and manage a variety of substrates including vinyl, fabric, paper, rigid boards, and specialty materials.
- Perform finishing operations including laminating, trimming, mounting, cutting, and assembly as required.
- Work with Prepress to identify file, colour, and production issues before and during manufacturing.
- Operate digital cutting and finishing equipment, including Kongsberg cutting systems, for precision routing, cutting, and specialty applications.
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate job status or issues to production management.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

- Previous experience operating wide format printers in a commercial print, signage,



or graphics environment is preferred.
- Experience with HP, Agfa, EFI VUTEk, Roland, Mimaki, Canon, or similar wide format equipment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of RIP software, colour management, and file preparation is preferred.
- Experience working with various substrates and finishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make machine adjustments.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
