The BC Nurses' Union, representing over 50,000 nurses, seeks a Labour Relations Officer for a regular full time position. You will address workplace concerns by interpreting agreements and guiding stewards in their duties. Engage in community advocacy, negotiate local agreements, and assist in education initiatives while driving improvements for members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce and interpret collective agreement provisions daily
• Advise stewards on legislation and union policies
• Present cases at arbitration and hearings
• Negotiate shift schedules and agreements
• Develop educational materials and mentor members
Requirements:
• 3-5 years in labour relations or grievance resolution
• Education in Social Sciences, Industrial Relations or Nursing
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Knowledge of nursing employment issues
• Willingness to travel throughout British Columbia
