Job Description:

Reporting to the Resident Programs Manager, the Certified Activity/Recreation Aide is responsible for providing high quality care while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, evaluate, develop and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the Supervisor.

Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.

Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.

Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.

Qualifications

Proof of successful completion of an approved Recreation and Leisure Services /Gerontology Diploma or Degree program required.

Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation and evaluation for geriatric population especially those cognitively impaired.

Compassion, professionalism, and respect.

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Compensation Details
As per the Collective Agreement $22.99 - $24.82 per hour
