We are currently accepting applications for Student Monitor. Under the direction of the Principal, the Student Monitor will provide general supervision and monitoring of students.
This position is covered under the UCDSB/CUPE collective agreement. For more information on employment information such as entitlements, pay, staffing, job protection, union security and dues information under the agreement please view it on our external website.
Qualifications and Experience:
Must possess a secondary school diploma.
6 months experience working with children/students in a supervisory/monitor capacity is required.
CPR and First Aid is preferred/asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills Required
Must possess a secondary school diploma
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to student needs.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions within the school community.
Ability to follow school policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Any or all of the following)
Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch/nutrition breaks, yard duty and in the halls.
Supervise students within the school setting, field trips and on the school yard, in school as assigned by the Principal.
Convey information to students regarding acceptable behavior as per school procedures.
Demonstrates good attendance and works in a healthy and safe manner.
Perform other related duties as required.
Effort Required (Physical & Mental)
Physical Work requires light manual effort typical of a normal school environment. Short periods of standing while supervising
References
UCDSB requires your current and two most recent direct supervisors.
If your experience is in a day-to-day occasional capacity ensure that you list the length of time that you worked for that Supervisor and whether the assignment was casual day-to-day or in a long-term occasional capacity.
The UCDSB does not accept colleagues or personal references.
