JOB TYPE: Temporary full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible for the administration and coordination of recruitment activities for the biobank, in collaboration with clinicians. They are responsible for participant follow-up and maintaining research projects requiring the collection of samples and/or data. They facilitate cohort development, provide support for meetings, and develop presentations highlighting the biobank's activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in biological/biochemical sciences, nursing, health sciences, social work or a related discipline;
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in the health research field within a university setting, research institution or hospital setting;
- Any other combination of relevant training and experience deemed equivalent;
- Experience in research project coordination an asset;
- Experience in recruiting research subjects and collecting data an asset;
- Experience in reviewing research protocols and with the Research Ethics Board submission process an asset;
- Experience interacting with the public, particularly in a healthcare setting, is an asset;
- IATA certification (transportation of hazardous materials) or the ability to obtain it within the established timeframe;
- WHMIS certification or the ability to obtain it within the established timeframe;




- Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite and other software applications used within the Network;
- Knowledge of relevant regulations governing research involving human participants is an asset;
- Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, or the ability to obtain certification within the established timeframe;
- Knowledge of the Tri-Council Policy Statement, or the ability to obtain certification within the established timeframe;

- Good understanding of medical terminology and concepts;

- Understanding of the scientific method and clinical research;
- Solid administrative and organizational skills are essential;
- Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the ability to set priorities;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Valuable previous work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
