Be a change-maker as a Women’s Advocate with YWCA Hamilton, providing essential support for women and gender-diverse individuals in crisis. This permanent part-time position focuses on cooperative crisis intervention and empowering life skills. YWCA Hamilton is hiring for two Women’s Advocates to help individuals in life transitions at the Transitional Living facility.
Responsibilities include crisis support, assessments, record keeping, and collaboration with community agencies.
Your role will include facilitating safe living plans, programming, and ensuring effective independence for residents. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate daily shelter needs and client transition plans
- Conduct assessments and provide referrals for essential services
- Maintain accurate records following YWCA policies
- Advocate with community agencies on behalf of clients
- Facilitate programming to increase life skills Requirements:
- 2 years of college in social work or human services
- 1-3 years of crisis management experience
- Experience with women facing multiple barriers
- Willingness to obtain Vulnerable Sector Police check
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of social resources Utilize your skills in crisis intervention and advocacy to support YWCA Hamilton’s mission of empowerment.
