As a

Star Performance Engineer** , you will be at the core of both staffed and autonomous mining operations, partnering closely with customers to elevate safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.

This role sits within the
**Mine

Star Performance Center** , with a key focus on optimizing the performance of
**Mine

Star Fleet**
and
**Command for Hauling**
applications across the region.

You’ll work directly with customers, dealers, and internal teams to drive measurable improvements using data, assessments, and performance tools—and act on opportunities that unlock value.

**What You Will Do**
Called upon as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support safe and effective performance for Mine





Star Fleet and Command for Hauling customers.

Lead and deliver Site Assessments, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and performance tool implementations.

Apply advanced methodologies and tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control performance for Mine

Star applications.

Provide coaching and mentoring to Caterpillar teams, dealers, and mining customers.

Advise customers on operational best practices and CI opportunities to unlock higher performance.

Maintain and update operational documentation to reflect best practices and performance insights.

Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and support teams to enhance technology offerings.

Support both contractual and non-contractual customer performance commitments.

Experience in surface mining operations
Knowledge of Mine

Star Fleet, Command for Hauling, or other mining technologies
Strong understanding of operational excellence and mining processes

Experience using performance improvement methodologies
Comfort working across diverse themes—data analysis, coding, validation, documentation, coaching, project management
**Effective Communications**
Excellent interpersonal skills

Star applications.
**Top Candidates Will Have**
Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Operational experience in Command for Hauling and a deep knowledge of Mine





Star
Experience working in conventional or autonomous surface mining operations
Experience with mining technology systems or heavy mining equipment
Knowledge of French or Spanish would be considered advantageous
Professional Engineer or the ability to register as a Qualified Engineer would be considered advantageous

Primary work locations:

Travel required approximately 25–50% to Caterpillar offices and remote mine locations

**Summary Pay Range:**
$108,400.00 - $135,500.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.

Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
