The Technical Specialist (GIS Specialist) contributes significantly to Western University's research community. With responsibilities in supporting grant-funded projects and teaching GIS techniques, your expertise will be crucial. You will provide insights into geographic information through specialized data and data visualization for faculty and students.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Geographic Information Systems expertise to campus projects
• Collaborate on grant-funded research initiatives
• Teach GIS techniques to students and faculty




• Support data visualization efforts in the Digital Scholarship Centre
• Troubleshoot GIS software issues and provide client service

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography or related field
• 2 years’ experience with GIS Software like QGIS and ArcGIS
• Proficiency in digital cartography and Esri software
• Experience with raster mosaic datasets and ArcGIS online
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
