Job Summary Provide technical expertise to assess, prevent and control public and environmental health risks. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement programs, conduct inspections and produce clear reports and recommendations.
Number of Positions 4
Main Duties Conduct inspections and surveys of facilities, worksites and environmental sites to identify health and safety hazards.
Collect, analyze and interpret environmental and health data, including sampling and coordination with laboratories.
Investigate incidents, complaints and outbreaks; document findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Develop, implement and evaluate public and environmental health programs, policies and procedures.
Prepare technical reports, inspection records and compliance notices for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide education, training and guidance to businesses, community groups and staff on health and safety best practices.
Requirements Post-secondary diploma or degree in public health, environmental health, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience conducting inspections, investigations or compliance monitoring in public or environmental health.
Knowledge of federal, provincial and local public and environmental health legislation, standards and best practices.
Experience with environmental sampling methods, data collection and basic laboratory coordination.




Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare transparent technical reports and recommendations.
Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, and to travel to field sites as required.
