Summary Measures and re-measures drip rates for controlled substances/medications that may be administered. Responsible for safe administration of therapeutic medications to include general properties of all types of drugs (analgesics, anti-anxiety, sedative, anti-convulsive, muscle relaxants, anti-rhythmics, anti-hypertensive, diuretics, bronchodilators, central nervous stimulants) and others as approved by transport service medical director(s). Takes consideration of potential risk associated with therapeutic drug administration. Must possess general knowledge of age and gender specific population to include GYN/OB, newborn, pediatric and geriatric population. Provides advanced life support emergency medical treatment of patients,
including performing and interpreting ectrocardiograms (EKG), electrical intervention as required to support airway and circulation appropriate to patient condition.
Minimum Qualifications Other information:
Required Licensure - Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) 16 hr.
Certifications - State of Florida Paramedic Certification, ACLS Certification or equivalent, PALS Certification or equivalent
Experience - Minimum of 2 years pre-hospital experience, or Minimum of 3 years hospital Emergency Department and/or Critical Care Department experience including Patient Support Technician experience and/or Emergency Services Technician experience.
Education Essential:
HS Graduate or Equivalent GED
