Role Description The Youth Worker is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kelowna, BC, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include building supportive relationships with children and youth, facilitating programs and activities that promote social, emotional, and educational development, and offering guidance and mentorship in group and one-on-one settings. The role involves coordinating with families, educators, and community partners, documenting progress, and contributing to program planning and evaluation.

The Youth

Worker will also assist in outreach initiatives, maintain a protected and inclusive environment,



and participate in team meetings and professional learning opportunities.

Qualifications

- Strong foundational skills in Youth Work and Youth Services, with experience supporting children and young people in community or educational settings.
- Background in Social Work or related human services fields, including knowledge of child and youth development, family systems, and community resources.
- Demonstrated Youth Mentoring abilities, including relationship-building, role modeling, and providing strengths-based guidance and support.
- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with youth, families, educators, and community partners.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in diverse, inclusive environments and a commitment to equity and non-discriminatory practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and use basic computer and digital tools for communication and reporting.
- Current or eligible background checks and any regionally required certifications related to working with children and youth.
