**Position Description**
The Williamson laboratory studies astrocyte biology across cognition, disease, and development.

Our research integrates techniques that span molecular, cellular, circuit, and behavioural neuroscience.





We are seeking an Assistant Research Technologist to join our growing team in a Casual position.

The
Assistant Research Technologist
is responsible for performing routine biological lab procedures.
**Here's What You'll Get To Do**
Learn and apply experimental approaches such as mouse behavioral assays and routine molecular biology under close supervision
Apply straightforward technical knowledge and skills to perform well-defined, routine and/or repetitive tests
Communicate and maintain records of experimental data
Demonstrate willingness to learn and accept responsibility
**Here's What You'll Need**
Post secondary education in Science (e.g., certification as a Registered Technologist)
Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication
A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
**Employment Type: Casual 6 month contract with possibility of renewal (5-10 hours per week), 0.00 FTE**
The principal investigator for this position is Dr.

Michael Williamson, who leads a multi-disciplinary research program focused on astrocyte biology of cognition and disease.

The lab is based in the Neurosciences & Mental Health Program in the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute.
