Become an integral part of the University of Toronto Mississauga as a Building Engineer. This role entails the operation and maintenance of utility equipment on campus, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Utilities & Elevator Services, the Building Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining all utilities equipment. You will conduct inspections, perform maintenance tasks, and respond to emergencies to ensure a safe setting at UTM.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of HVAC and other mechanical systems, along with effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular rounds of mechanical equipment and utilities services
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
- Monitor building management systems for operational efficiency
- Respond to trouble calls during off hours
- Maintain daily logs of equipment operations and issues
Requirements:
- High School diploma and 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certification
- Minimum one year of relevant engineering experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and office software
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
