Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Steel Door Manufacturing Group. This role ensures products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while meeting production timelines and cost objectives. As a key leader on the production floor, you will work closely with team members to drive performance across manufacturing, quality, safety, and people management.
Key Responsibilities Production &
• Operations Management - Oversee daily manufacturing activities and assign work orders - Monitor progress against production schedules and adjust as needed to minimize downtime - Ensure efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment - Lead, coach, and support production employees to achieve performance goals - Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work setting - Support employee training and development initiatives Health, Safety &
• Compliance - Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures - Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices - Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in incident investigations Quality Assurance - Perform regular quality checks (e.g., dimensions, welds, hardware preparation) - Identify and address quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions Daily Operations &
• Communication - Lead daily toolbox meetings to communicate priorities, targets, and safety updates - Provide timely updates to management on production status, delays, and operational challenges - Ensure smooth shift transitions through clear documentation and communication Inventory &
• Equipment Management - Monitor material usage and anticipate shortages - Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated Administrative Responsibilities - Complete daily production and supervisor reports - Maintain accurate records of production activities and incidents Overview
