This position, based in our Surrey office, will primarily provide support to our Accounting Coordinator but will also support the payroll department on an as-required basis, as well as assist our team of project managers when needed. The Junior Accounting Clerk will conduct office administration duties including data input into a SAGE 300 ERP system, data maintenance via Excel spreadsheets and hardcopy filing, purchase and management of office supplies, review of expense paperwork to catch input and filing errors, and office reception for visitors. The Junior Accounting Clerk will report directly to the Director of Finance.

Tasks of the Junior Accounting Clerk include:

Support the Accounting Coordinator

- Create standardized electronic and hardcopy files
- Sort, review and maintain expense files
- Code expense invoices for processing
- Enter AP and AR data into SAGE 300 ERP system as directed
- Track donations and program-based tuitions using Excel spreadsheets
- Use and maintain postage machine, copier and other office equipment
- Assist in various AP and AR tasks as needed

Support the Payroll Coordinator

- Partner with Payroll Coordinator to review biweekly payroll for data entry errors
- Create and maintain employee personnel files

Support the Project Managers

- Audit expense files in preparation for year end

Other Duties as required

- Send and receive field equipment by courier as required by the Safety Coordinator
- Provide reception to incoming visitors and callers
- Handle postage machine, mail and courier arrangements
- Purchase/maintain office supplies and ensure equipment is properly maintained




- Assist Finance Director with Inventory tracking and maintenance
- Perform other clerical or regional office tasks as assigned by the Finance Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in Accounts Payable data entry (SAGE 300 familiarity an asset)
- Experience in General Ledger accounting (SAGE 300 familiarity an asset)
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (see *note), Word, Outlook and Access
- Sound knowledge of accounting procedures
- Experience in dealing with suppliers

JOB DETAILS

Successful candidate will work from our Surrey Office.



Candidate must live within a reasonable commute. BCCF will not pay relocation expenses. Candidate must be legally able to work in Canada permanently.

Hours : 5 days per week to start, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours biweekly), scheduling will depend on availability

Wage : $25.00 per hour
