Job DescriptionPosition:AWS Cloud AdministratorPrimary Location:Toronto, ONSchedule:Full time, SalariedReports To:IT DirectorCompensation:CAD 120,000 - CAD 130,000 + bonus + benefitsSalary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, and cloud security best practices. The incumbent will work closely with internal and external teams to deploy, maintain, and optimize cloud‑based solutions while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.The AWS Cloud Administrator will oversee cloud performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost optimization while maintaining infrastructure documentation and ensuring disaster recovery readiness. A key aspect of this role includes reviewing system requirements with a focus on efficiency, security, and cost‑effectiveness.



In addition, this position requires expertise in Windows and Linux server administration, adherence to formal change request processes, and staying up to date with evolving AWS technologies. Limited travel to plant and corporate locations may be required. The ideal candidate should have strong technical acumen, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams to drive cloud initiatives that align with business objectives. The role combines cloud infrastructure management with SAP HANA expertise, ensuring the stability and performance of SAP systems running on AWS.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.4+ years of proven experience as an AWS Cloud Administrator or similar role.5+ years of experience supporting Windows Servers.3+ years of experience supporting Linux Servers.AWS Solutions Architect Certification (Professional level preferred).AWS Developer Certification (Associate).AWS Sysops Certification (Associate).Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and others.Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud architecture.Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.Experience with formal change request processes.Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, VPC, S3, EBS, and Security Groups.Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automating tasks and managing infrastructure.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage scalable, secure,



and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.Work with internal/external teams to assess requirements and deploy third‑party applications and services within the cloud workplace.Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.Maintain infrastructure as code repositories.Maintain and enhance security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.Create and execute change requests.Ensure that cloud systems are properly documented.Perform root–cause analysis on any cloud service outages.Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices.Travel to plants and other locations as required (limited).Always consider cybersecurity by design in any system changes or additions.Review existing and new system requirements with consideration for cloud cost optimization.Manage and support SAP landscapes within the AWS environment, including EC2 instances, virtual networks, storage, and security.Administer SAP HANA databases, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.Monitor SAP system performance using Solution Manager, Data Dog, and other tools; identify bottlenecks and apply necessary optimizations.Collaborate with other teams, including SAP Basis administrators, developers, and business stakeholders, to resolve issues and ensure business continuity.Develop automation solutions to streamline tasks and improve efficiency, such as using AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure‑as‑code.What Chemtrade Offers YouWe embrace diversity and inclusion, fostering a work environment that celebrates diverse talents and perspectives.
