Alexion Corporate Affairs Hybrid work – average 3 days/week from our Mississauga office and/or temporary Downtown office.At Alexion, we pride ourselves on building a collaborative culture that champions knowledge-sharing, ambitious thinking, and innovation—ultimately providing employees with the opportunity to work across teams, functions, and even the globe.What You’ll DoCreate strong external relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders such as policymakers/decision-makers, patient advocacy groups, key opinion leaders, clinical experts, and skilled societies.Build and implement targeted engagement plans within key disease areas aligning partnership and policy changes with key business objectives.Develop compelling policy argumentations and engagement materials.Lead and contribute to multi‑stakeholder partnerships with the aim to deliver outputs relevant to progressing policy discussions, and work closely with global counterparts to support policy evidence generation and pull‑through of global materials.Collaborate with internal colleagues to foster optimal partnerships and highlight relationships with key influencers to achieve business priorities.Monitor, analyze, provide insight, and make strategic recommendations on engagement priorities to all appropriate internal colleagues.Act as counsel to the Director and other Alexion Canada senior leaders on disease area and health system policy issues.Collaborate and pitch‑in on various department projects as the need arises.Essential For The RoleBachelor’s degreeMinimum 5+ years in policy development, patient advocacy, government affairs, corporate affairs or related fields in regulated, complex, or multinational environments.Deep knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and rare disease ecosystem, patient advocacy community, and life sciences stakeholder groups in Canada, and understanding of the interrelationship between patient advocacy organizations, pharmaceutical companies,



healthcare practitioners, and governments/payers.Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new policy areas and regulatory environments, synthesize information, and generate actionable insights.Proven track record of collaborating and mobilizing different people and organizations.Strong interpersonal skills for working across functions and a variety of stakeholders. Superior written and verbal communication, with experience preparing policy materials and executive‑level updates.Strong organizational and time‑management skills for tracking deliverables and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.Ability to travel across Canada (~20%).Desirable for The RolePrevious experience in rare disease.Experience in biopharmaceuticals, health systems, or life sciences.Annual base salary for this position ranges from $125,822.40 to $165,141.90.AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues.
