Here’s the job opportunity…This position is a replacement. Pay Range: CAD$126,000 - $135,000The Senior Manager of IFRS Reporting and Analysis ensures the financial reporting processes for Sagicor operations in the United States (SUSA), and other possible locations of Sagicor insurance captives are properly managed.The SUSA IFRS reporting requires alignment with the Sagicor Group reporting guidance and compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as promulgated by the International Accounting Standards Board. The Sagicor Group is also in a process of transition to the new ERP technology that will require additional effort from the Finance team to manage the change over next few years.Primary responsibilities include IFRS reporting team management, coordination and execution of financial reporting process for SUSA and other possible insurance captives, ensuring all data and information are sourced on a timely basis, all reconciliations and controls are completed as designed, and relevant supporting documentation is in place. The role will also require collaboration with SUSA and other Sagicor Group Entities Leadership, Finance, Actuarial and other departments as needed, as well as external vendors to ensure the financial statements follow all accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOP) and regulatory requirements. Proactive planning, design and development of data architecture, processes, and upgraded applications will be key success factors for the Financial Reporting Senior Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesManagerial and Financial Reporting ResponsibilitiesManage IFRS Record-To-Report process for SUSA and its subsidiaries and affiliates,
i.E. plan, manage and execute to ensure all external and internal financial reports and analysis are accurately prepared, reviewed and approved on a timely basis.Manage the IFRS reporting team – ensure their work is properly planned, coordinated and executed. Ensure professional development and performance measurement for every individual on the team.Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, and other departments to make sure all data and information needed for SUSA and other possible insurance captives financial reporting are complete, accurate to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.Collaborate with other functional teams (IT, Operations and Policy Administration, Investments, Risk Management) to ensure alignment of accounting and financial reporting data and processes as needed.Review and update existing accounting policy application documentation, as needed.Recommend to leadership for new policies, procedures and data and systems modifications needed to align with an existing and future regulatory requirements.Proactively identify, recommend, and implement control environment enhancements with cooperation from SUSA Finance Department.Support Sagicor Group,
SUSA and other possible insurance captives initiatives related to enhancements of financial systems, data, and processes.Ensure auditability of financial information and collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate and/or assist in handling internal and external audits requests.Monitor regulatory and accounting standards developments and changes to ensure timely adoption.Financial analysis and financial performance measurementEnsure budget analysis is performed on a regular basis and any issues or opportunities are reported on a timely basis to the SUSA Finance Leadership.Collaborate with Actuarial and Investment Department to develop relevant methodology and manage a sustainable process to complete in-depth capital and profitability analysis on a regular basis.Collaborate with Finance and Accounting Teams to support control environment development, enhance financial processes, and develop financial planning, analysis, and reporting methodologies.Perform ad-hoc financial and business analysis as requested by the management.Other responsibilitiesSupport senior financial leadership in continuing enhancement of existing procedures and systems.Provide support and/or back up for other accounting and financial processes on as needed basis (time permitting).Maintain cohesive working relationships with all areas of the company.Proactively teach/coach other team members to improve knowledge and skillset of the Finance and Accounting Team.BenefitsCompetitive salary and inclusion in a bonus programA fantastic vacation plan and time offA retirement plan with 100% of up to 6%Flexible hybrid work arrangementsRecognition programs#J-18808-Ljbffr
