OverviewReporting to the President & CEO of the Canadian Propane Association (CPA), the Executive Director leads the Propane Training Institute (PTI) and is responsible for ensuring PTI remains the premier training provider for Canada’s propane industry. This senior leadership role combines strategic vision, business development, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight. Working closely with the CPA Board, President & CEO, and senior management team, the Executive Director will shape PTI’s long-term strategy, oversee high-quality training delivery, and cultivate strong relationships with members, regulators, and industry partners.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipSet and execute a multi-year vision and strategic roadmap that positions PTI as the premier training provider for the propane industry.Provide organizational leadership across planning, budgeting, performance management, and governance support.Ensure policies, processes, and practices support organizational effectiveness and long-term sustainability.Business Growth & Stakeholder RelationsPartner with the President & CEO to drive PTI’s growth strategy, financial performance, and achieve long-term objectives.Identify industry training needs, emerging opportunities, and new delivery channels to expand reach and revenue.Build and maintain strong relationships with members, trainers, regulators,



and key industry stakeholders across Canada.Ensure PTI programs maintain recognition and credibility with regulatory authorities in all jurisdictions.Training Excellence & OperationsProvide executive oversight of PTI’s national training programs across multiple delivery formats.Ensure training content remains technically accurate, current, and aligned with regulatory requirements.Drive operational efficiency, cost management, and effective use of technology to support scalable program delivery.Monitor performance metrics and report on outcomes, impact, and return on investment.Collaboration & RepresentationContribute to PTI and CPA communications, marketing initiatives, and cross-functional projects.Represent PTI and CPA through committee participation and external engagement as required.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 10 years’ experience in business development, sales, the propane sector, or a related combination.Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.Strong strategic, organizational, and program management skills.Excellent interpersonal, communication,
