This role applies external market insights and best practices to support competitive, compliant, and well-governed programs, and provides sound advice to HR Business Partners and business leaders.The Manager, Total Rewards serves as a primary point of contact for compensation, benefits and wellness matters and supports the delivery of new and evolving total rewards initiatives.Compensation ProgramsOversee the administration of Executive and Non-Executive Compensation programs, including base salary, incentives, and sales compensation.Manage job evaluation, salary structures, benchmarking, and participation in annual compensation surveys.Ensure compensation programs comply with legislative requirements (e.G., Pay Equity) and internal governance standards.Lead annual salary and bonus/variable compensation review cycle, including timelines, governance, and communication to business leaders.Monitor market trends and emerging practices to assess competitiveness and recommend program enhancements.Benefits and Compensation subject matter expertAct as a subject-matter expert and internal consultant for compensation, and insured and retirement benefits.Manage relationships with benefits vendors, including contact maintenance, renewals, cost monitoring, service levels, and negotiations.Develop and maintain employee communications and resources to support understanding and effective use of benefits program.Liaise with perks carriers on complex cases and makes recommendations on exceptions to policy.Coach HR team members and advise leaders on interpretation and consistent application of perks and compensation policiesCompensation & Benefits Budgeting and ForecastingSupport annual budgeting and forecasting for compensation and benefits programs, including salary increase planning, cost monitoring, variance analysis, and corrective action recommendations.Executive Compensation and Human Resources Committee ReportingSupport executive compensation administration,
including incentive calculations, market analysis, and documentation of objectives.In partnership with Associate Director, prepare compensation analyses, metrics, and summaries for HR Committee and Board reporting, including annual salary and bonus reviews.Mergers & AcquisitionsSupport compensation and benefits-related due diligence and integration activities for mergers and acquisitions, including identifying differences in compensation/benefits programs and recommending solutions to harmonize and integrate programs and processes.Establish and manage required activities, accountabilities and timelines to support compensation integration.Business Initiatives & HR Strategic PlanningCollaborate HR leadership on strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.Lead or support Total Rewards-related projects as assigned.Participate in HR strategic planning and support communication of HR priorities and objectives.Wellness Programs & Employee Well-BeingCreate and deliver wellness challenges and initiatives that encourage participation and promote a healthy, engaged workforce.Develop and execute communication plans to ensure employees understand available wellness benefits and how to access related resources.Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.G.: HR, Lines of Business, leadership teams) to integrate wellness initiatives into the broader Total Rewards and well-being strategy, as required.Work with third-party wellness and benefits providers (e.G.: Canada Life, Sun Life, TELUS, etc) to support program delivery, participation, and effectiveness.Monitor participation trends and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.Lead and Manage StaffChampion the company’s Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan both internally and externally within the industry.Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members who demonstrate and reinforce MCAP’s Values and culture.Establish, communicate, and monitor clear performance standards for direct reports, with a focus on results, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork.Coach, mentor, and support direct reports to build confidence,
