Make your mark while you grow your career! The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will promote a proactive, frontline-driven safety culture through communication and continuous improvement. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will have the opportunity to demonstrate their previous expertise in safety, operations and/or maintenance to join the Health and Safety team in a role that will partners with operational leadership and provide support and guidance for Oil Sands business units. This position will allow the selected candidate to make a significant contribution in the Health and Safety department while also taking full advantage of the learning and personal development opportunities. Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta; Horizon or Albian Oil Sands site Shift schedule: 8 x 6, Wednesday to Wednesday Safety sensitive position: Yes Key Accountabilities Champion and promote the consistent implementation and use of Canadian Natural’s Safety Management System, aligning with the company’s Mission Statement Partner with leadership to strengthen safety culture through coaching, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting continuous development Lead and support the incident management process, including reporting, investigations, and corrective action development across mining and maintenance operations Conduct field inspections, Worksite Safety Observations (WSOs),
and site tours to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with safety standards Analyze incident, near-miss, inspections, and WSO data to identify trends and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders Support regulatory compliance and risk mitigation by participating in hazard assessments, liaising with government bodies, and contributing to industrial hygiene and radiation safety programs What You Bring to the Role Minimum 5 years of oil and gas operations/mining and/or safety experience, supported by a Grade 12 diploma or GED Formal Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) education and/or CRSP designation considered an asset Demonstrated safety leadership experience, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities considered an asset Working knowledge of provincial and governmental safety regulations and standards is an asset Strong data analysis capabilities and proficiency with Microsoft computer systems are considered assets Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to learn from multiple sources and coach others to apply the same standards What We Offer Market-competitive salary, stock options, company matched stock savings plan, annual bonuses 100% Employer paid extended Health, Dental and Vision Benefits May be eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Policy May be eligible for additional premiums Company Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta First class camp facilities Health & Wellness Spending
