We need an experienced and ambitious leader who can think architecturally, articulate a compelling long-term technical vision, execute on realistic yet ambitious plans, and grow our Engineering team in Toronto, Canada.What You’ll DoDefine and implement a technology vision for building current product features for TelematicsManage the product and business outcomes of the engineering teamsDevelop a long-term product roadmap in collaboration with product teamsLead technical design discussions by collaborating with multiple teams, including other embedded teams, backend engineers, product managers etcHire, manage, and develop a diverse team of distributed yet highly productive engineers.
This includes providing technical guidance as well as effective coaching and career developmentWhat We’re Looking ForBachelors or Masters in Engineering or equivalent experience10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, working on embedded devices (RTOS, Linux or Android; Android preferred)5+ years of experience managing 10+ engineersAbility to drive architectural designs of software systems, navigating complex product requirements and engineering constraintsDemonstrated success in hiring, managing, motivating, and promoting effective engineersProven track record as a nimble and proactive thinker and doer, who thrives in an environment that demands excellencePassion for continuous experimentation and learning, coupled with a desire to make things run faster, and betterPay TransparencyYour compensation may be based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles, total compensation may include restricted stock units.
