This is a new vacant position, which will be the third estimator on our team.Reports to: Shoring Division ManagerJob Duties and Responsibilities· Prepare and coordinate full cost estimates for conceptual, design build, and competitive tender projects.· Access bidding portals and RFQs, download and organize tender documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and addenda.· Review tender documents in detail to identify scope requirements, key constraints, schedules, and cost implications.· Extract relevant information, such as drawings, specification, location, etc.· Complete quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracted work.· Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity rates, and location impacts.· Request, review, and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment providers.· Recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation, and contingency.· Review design options and, where required,



work with internal or external designers to prepare the framework for the estimate.· Prepare estimates and review final submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness.· Participate in internal and client review meetings and present estimates, methods, assumptions, as required.· Identify and evaluate project risks and be able to incorporate contingencies as needed.· Maintain organized estimating files and current pricing information.· Track tender updates, RFQs, and bid submission dates, and communicate changes to internal teams.· Provide estimating support to Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and other departments as required.Bid Strategy and Tender Support· Assist the team in determining bid strategies and suitable projects to pursue.· Maintain estimating schedules and bid calendars.· Develop bid lists and follow up on bid submissions.Qualifications and skills· Manage multiple estimates concurrently with accuracy and efficiency.· Proven experience on Civil and ICI projects and experience navigating specification portals· Apply knowledge of applicable standards and guidelines, including Metrolinx, MTO Standards, OPSS, OPSD, and municipal requirements.· Experience in reviewing and understanding Geotechnical reports.· Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Teams and PDF management tools.· Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD is an asset.· Open to learning and applying new methods beyond current areas of expertise.Work ConditionsHybridStandard hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PMCompensation and Perks$83,000-$90,000 commensurate with qualificationsWeekly payHealth spending account $1000 annually in addition to group benefitsEducation Reimbursement $2000 annually3% employer-matching RRSP3 week’s vacation to start
