This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, driven individual with strong leadership skills who takes pride in their work. The Foreman plays a key role in meeting project deadlines and supporting overall customer satisfaction. ResponsibilitiesLead daily crew huddles to set production goals and expectationsLead a crew of craft workers including carpenters, labourers, and equipment operatorsInterpret blueprints and job documents to plan work effectivelyPlan and schedule materials, equipment, and crew activitiesMaintain daily job logs and diariesEnsure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety policies Lead safety meetings and enforce safe work practices Communicate goals clearly and lead by example Train and mentor crew members Collaborate with the project team to meet milestones and deliver successful projects Oversee field quality control and liaise with inspectors, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies Coordinate with project owners and ensure compliance with environmental and local requirementsIdentify risks and support mitigation strategiesFlag out-of-scope work and assist with change managementUphold company standards for professionalism and customer serviceWear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
at all timesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications3+ years of experience in field crew management within civil/highway constructionMinimum 5 years of construction experienceKnowledge of OTM Book 7Ability to interpret grading templates and cross-sectionsExperience with GPS surveying and base station setup (asset) Experience with highway widening and interchange construction (preferred)Knowledge of survey controls and grade checkingProficient in reading civil construction drawingsExperience working in environmentally sensitive areas Valid Class G driver’s license Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel as requiredPersonal Qualities / Skills:Strong commitment to safetyReliable, self-motivated, and hardworkingExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsEffective verbal and written communicationAbility to work independently and within a teamStrong time management and professionalismHigh standards for quality workmanshipProven leadership and people management skillsWorking ConditionsFast-paced, physically demanding environmentRequires bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing Outdoor work in varying conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and noiseHourly Wage Range: $30.00-$45.00 Location: Various Locations within OntarioAs the Fidelity Group of Companies continue to evolve in their respective industries, we have only begun our journey of what we are capable of achieving.
