Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.The Facilities Maintenance Planning department is responsible for the overall continuous development of the maintenance and reliability programs to ensure maximum availability and reliability of equipment. The Intern, Facilities Operations Maintenance is responsible for assisting the maintenance department in improving, developing, and standardizing all maintenance processes to be aligned with the internal policies of Seaspan.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.What you'll doDevelop and implement predictive techniques plans on critical equipmentAssist in developing comprehensive maintenance plans for routine, preventive, condition-based and predictive maintenance activitiesAudit and improve current maintenance plansAssist in developing Bill of Materials for critical equipmentAssist in developing and handling the facility maintenance and reliability programDevelop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
