Temporary RECE/DA After School Educator (ending in April 17, 2028)

Temporary, Part-time

We operate full‑day early learning and childcare centres for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended‑day programs for kindergarten and school‑aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area. Location and Hours

- Location: Dundas Central Centre; 73 Melville St, Dundas, ON L9H 2A2
- Total Weekly Hours: 17.75 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:45pm - 6:00pm
- Pay Rate:
- RECE - $28.90 per hour
- Non RECE - $26.35 per hour

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications

- Minimum 1‑year experience working directly with children or in a childcare setting.




- Early Childhood Education Diploma (ECE) and member in good standing with the College of ECEs OR educational requirements to obtain Director’s Approval for working alone with children.

Certifications

- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Proof of up‑to‑date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)

Skills & Knowledge

- Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)
- Strong understanding of child development and age‑appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and implement activities to support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of children at all times.
- Maintain an engaging and welcoming workplace for children and families.
- Complete documentation and meet Ministry of Education requirements.
- Collaborate with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty.
