A Calgary-based oil and gas company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee its accounting and finance function.The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and financial analysis. The role will work closely with executive management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors to provide accurate financial information and business insights to support decision-making.The ideal candidate is a CPA with senior finance leadership experience, solid public-company reporting knowledge, and a solid background in the oil and gas industry.Key ResponsibilitiesLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and applicable public-company requirements.Support HKEX reporting and disclosure obligations.Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial modeling.Coordinate external audits, tax compliance,



and regulatory reporting.Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.Maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.Lead and develop the finance team.Work with external auditors, advisors, and professional service providers.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.Experience as Financial Controller, Corporate Controller, VP Finance, or similar senior finance role.Strong oil and gas industry experience.Public-company reporting experience preferred.Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, and audit.Experience working with senior management, Audit Committees, and Boards of Directors.Preferred ExperienceExperience with HKEX-listed or other publicly listed companies.Knowledge of HKEX reporting requirements.Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are an asset.CompensationCompetitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
