Position Overview

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part‑Time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our growing team.

Location & Status

Location: Hamilton, ON

Status: Permanent Part‑Time

Schedule: 28 hours/week (Monday to Thursday)

Responsibilities

- Assist the supervising occupational therapist in performing components of treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities.
- Perform treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range‑of‑motion, strengthening, and application of modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and TENS.
- Deliver dynamic, safe, and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents.
- Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents’ treatments.
- Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
- Maintain regular ongoing communication with the occupational therapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident’s status or treatment interventions.
- Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness’ proprietary, web‑based system.

Qualifications

- PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology, or a similar healthcare background.
- Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months).
- Proof of Tuberculin (2‑Step Mantoux Test) clearance.
