Enhance the culinary experience for youth at Leading Thunderbird Lodge in Fort San, SK. This full-time Cook position involves meal planning, preparation, and education based on traditional and nutritional standards.
Leading Thunderbird Lodge seeks a motivated Cook to support their residential treatment program. You will create monthly meal plans, prepare meals in line with the Canada and First Nation Food Guides, and engage youth in nutritional workshops. This role also includes kitchen maintenance and food ordering responsibilities, providing a vital service to the therapeutic community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design monthly meal plans for youth and staff
• Prepare daily meals based on nutritional guidelines
• Clean and disinfect kitchen and dining areas
• Order food supplies per meal plans and activities
• Conduct nutritional awareness and meal prep workshops
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education; Cooking certificate required
• Valid Protected Food Handling certificate and Driver's License
• Understanding of First Nations Food Guide
• Experience in traditional food preparation and outdoor cooking
• Excellent communication skills for youth engagement
