Were a busy working family looking for a reliable and patient babysitter to help with our son a few days a week after school, usually for about 2 hours. Our son has autism and is considered non-verbal, although he does speak. He has echolalia and communicates best with actions and short, easy sentences. He loves routine and organization and can be sensitive to loud noises. We need help picking him up from YMCA at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School by 6 PM (about a 7-minute walk from home), walking him home, washroom reminders, shower, playtime, dinner and starting his bedtime routine. He may need reminders to use the washroom. Before eating, he waits to be told yes, pray and will pray before his meal. He is given one appropriate-sized serving, as he may continue eating if not redirected. He does not watch TV during the week. Were usually home by 7:30 PM at the latest and are looking for someone caring, dependable and comfortable following his routine.
