Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated emergency and urgent care veterinarian to support a 24/7 emergency veterinary service focused on high‑acuity small animal medicine. You will be part of a team addressing unpredictable and critical health situations, delivering timely diagnoses and treatments that make a real difference in urgent patient outcomes. In this role, you will work in a fast‑paced environment where rapid assessment, decisive action, and clear client communication are central to exceptional care. The position encompasses a range of emergency procedures, intensive monitoring, and collaboration with support staff to ensure each patient receives attentive, life‑saving intervention when it matters most.

Responsibilities

Evaluating and stabilizing pets in urgent and life‑threatening conditions

Performing emergency surgeries, trauma management, and anesthesia care

Utilizing diagnostic tools including radiology, ultrasound, and lab testing





Managing intensive care cases with effective monitoring and treatment planning

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent

Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Ontario

Comfortable making critical decisions under pressure

Excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members
