SnapCyte builds AI tools that turn cell microscopy images into reproducible, quantitative data for life science researchers and biotech. Our models are used by labs in over 80 countries. You'd join a small team of ML engineers and biologists building models scientists rely on every day.
About the role
You'll primarily work on a research project with our collaborators at UBC, while also contributing to other models across the platform, from segmentation and counting to recent assays. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and close mentorship from senior engineers. A solid fit for a recent graduate or someone early in their ML career.
Responsibilities
Build, train, and evaluate deep learning models for image analysis
Improve accuracy of existing segmentation and counting models
Work with biologists to translate lab problems into ML tasks
Iterate quickly and take ownership of your work
Qualifications
Solid Python and hands-on experience with deep learning (PyTorch or similar)
Some exposure to computer vision or image analysis
Comfortable working independently
Bonus: background or interest in biology, microscopy, or life sciences
