Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE) – Lead Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational setting for young children, supporting their developmental needs, and fostering a love of learning. This role requires robust leadership skills, excellent communication, and a passion for early childhood education. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with staff and families to ensure a high-quality educational experience that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual child needs
Foster a protected, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
Observe, assess, and document children's progress to tailor activities that support developmental milestones
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behaviors, and needs
Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards in compliance with licensing regulations
Incorporate bilingual instruction (English/French)
when applicable to support language development
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of children with disabilities or special education requirements
Utilize computer skills for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Experience
Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is required
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is highly desirable
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing classroom activities and guiding team members
Strong communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in French is a plus
Knowledge of early childhood education principles, classroom management, and child development theories
Familiarity with computer operation for documentation and communication purposes
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a quick-paced environment
Experience working collaboratively with families, colleagues, and community partners to support children's growth
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
