Vets Around the Corner – Emergency Department (VAC-ED) is proud to be opening one of the only privately owned emergency veterinary facilities in the GTA. We are currently seeking Emergency Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs)who are passionate about critical care, teamwork, and innovation.

This is a rare opportunity to join a brand-new emergency operationat the ground level — helping to build systems, culture, and best practices from the start, while being supported by an established, award-winning organization.

Scheduling & Hours
This position involves rotating emergency shifts, including:

Overnights Monday to Friday

Rotating shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Emergency medicine is demanding — we are committed to fair scheduling, work‑life harmony, and adequate staffing to support our team.

What You’ll Do

Provide high‑level nursing care in emergency and critical cases

Triage and assist with emergency presentations

Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures and surgeries

Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery

Conduct diagnostics including lab work and radiography

Maintain accurate medical records in a fast‑paced environment, with the assistance of AI record‑keeping and technology such as computers in every room, tablets, laptops and TV monitors

Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients during critical situations

Support emergency operations, ambulance responses, and outreach initiatives





Contribute ideas and leadership to help develop emergency protocols and workflows

Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), in good standing with the OAVT

Eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a criminal record check

Strong technical and critical‑thinking skills

Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑pressure situations

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Compassionate, professional, and client‑focused approach

Interest in innovation, emergency medicine, and community impact

Adaptable, motivated, and eager to grow with a new service
