Your Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work under the supervision of a professional engineer and participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineering principles to select pipeline design solutions. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and be exposed to a variety of expertise within Stantec. You will assist in verifying compliance with applicable codes, engineering standards, practices, design and construction specifications.

Your Key Responsibilities

Perform design work and ensure the drafting of the pipeline alignment sheets, detailed crossings plans, and related pipeline facilities is accurate

Perform design calculations compliant with applicable codes and standards

Provide appropriate engineering input and a technical overview to design activities undertaken by design/drafting staff residing within or outside the project team

Create material requisitions and, if necessary, review quotations for compliance with technical specifications

Contribute to cost estimates in small to large sized projects in collaboration with all other disciplines

Ensure that the deliverables provided to the project are technically accurate, within specifications, scope, budget and schedule,



suitable for the intended purpose and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans

Opportunities for field‑based engineering construction support may be available on a project‑specific basis

Your Capabilities and Credentials

General understanding of the application of engineering principles and quality control processes

Familiarity with pipeline design codes and standards such as CSA Z662 and the Z245 series

Ability to manage your time and complete tasks according to schedules and deadlines

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

Thorough understanding of engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate ideas to others

Effective oral and written communication skills

Understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Civil or Pipeline Engineering

Registered with APEGA as an Engineering in Training (EIT)

New Graduate to 4 years engineering experience with a preference for exposure to the pipeline industry

Pay Transparency
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
