Maintenance Technician – Waste Industry

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our client in the waste management industry. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working in a waste-processing workplace, and experienced with pumps, valves, and related industrial equipment. A Millwright or other relevant trade license is preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues involving pumps, valves, piping systems, and other industrial equipment.
Remove, replace, and install pumps, valves, and related components.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Inspect equipment, identify potential issues, and recommend necessary repairs.
Complete general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility.
Perform basic welding and fabrication work when required.
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and site procedures.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and completed maintenance.
Respond to urgent maintenance requirements when needed.
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
Previous industrial maintenance experience,



ideally within the waste management, recycling, wastewater, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sector.
Hands-on experience repairing, replacing, and installing pumps and valves is required.
Comfortable working in a waste-processing environment.
Millwright licence, Journeyperson certification, or another relevant mechanical trade qualification is preferred.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Welding experience is considered an asset.
Valid driver’s licence.
Positive communication skills and working knowledge of English.
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond after hours when required.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $40.00-$46.00 per hour
