Join our vibrant bakery team as a Bakery Counter Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a warm, welcoming environment for our customers. In this role, you will be the friendly face behind the bakery counter, assisting customers with their selections, handling food preparation tasks, and ensuring that every visit is a delightful experience. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth operation of the bakery section, promoting quality service and food safety standards.

Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about baked goods and making personalized recommendations.
Prepare and package bakery items with care, maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation.
Operate POS systems, to process transactions accurately and efficiently while handling cash and card payments.
Manage the bakery display by restocking items, rotating products for freshness, and upselling featured baked goods to increase sales.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing bread, filling pastry displays,



or preparing straightforward ingredients as needed.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and minimize wait times for customers.

Qualifications
Prior experience in food service or retail environments is preferred, especially within the food industry or restaurant settings.
Familiarity with cashiering duties and POS systems is highly desirable.
Robust customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and transactions.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours.
Kitchen or food industry experience is a plus, along with a proactive attitude towards upselling and enhancing customer experience.

Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour
