An exciting chance is now available for a Registered Practical Nurse to work as part of inter-disciplinary teams led by committed family physicians in the Hamilton area. Winterberry Family Medicine serves as a focus for primary care management, community-based health promotion and disease prevention programs and activities. Working collaboratively with a physician and other interdisciplinary team members, serving a large rostered patient population, an opportunity exists for a Permanent Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse to significantly shape and influence health outcomes for the Hamilton community.
Schedule:
Every Saturday (mandatory)
One additional weekday/evening shift guaranteed each week
Availability to cover occasional sick calls
Responsibilities and Duties
You will work within the full scope of practice in a patient-centred model of care with a team of highly motivated allied health care specialists including, dietitians and mental health counsellors.
Qualifications and Skills
You must hold a current certification of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and maintain membership with the RPNAO.
An understanding of computers is essential, including the use of electronic medical records. Experience with PS Suite EMR would be an asset.
This position requires excellent health assessment/clinical skills and the ability to perform the full range of duties and responsibilities. While primary care experience is preferred, an orientation to primary care will be provided.
