Step into a leadership role as the Managing Editor for CBC/Radio-Canada in Southwestern Ontario, overseeing editorial strategies and community outreach. This in office position requires fluency in English and French to effectively engage diverse audiences.
This temporary, long-term position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of local journalism. You will direct four teams in Windsor, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Hamilton, delivering comprehensive news coverage across platforms. The role also includes fostering collaborations across the organization to maximize journalistic impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic editorial leadership daily
Develop partnerships and outreach strategies
Ensure compliance with CBC's journalistic standards
Hire, mentor, and support newsroom staff
Monitor published content for accuracy and integrity
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of related leadership experience
Proven ability to guide journalistic decision-making
Knowledge of CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices
Experience managing teams remotely
Robust understanding of media trends and local journalism
Drive audience engagement and adapt to the evolving media landscape as CBC's Managing Editor.
