Metro Machine Works is looking for a 4th year Apprentice or a Journeyman Machinist.

Responsibilities:
Program, set up and operate CNC mills to produce precision parts and instruments (manual lathe experience would also be an asset)

-Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
(Threading/Boring) Bearing diameters and all calculations
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
Maintain a clean and safe work environment




Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments or repairs

Requirements:
CNC experience
Ability to consistently maintain tolerances of .005
Ability to use measuring equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to select appropriate tools, tool holders, cutters, inserts.
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Speak English / Good communication skills
