Marine Designer Technologist - VICTORIA, BC - We’re looking for a talented Intermediate Marine Systems Designer – Technologist to join our mechanical systems team and work on a variety of vessel refit and new design projects. The work ranges from smaller equipment installs to full vessel system designs, so there’s plenty of variety and room to grow. You will need to have some understanding of marine engineering and naval architecture, as well as strong drafting skills and an eye for detail.Most of your time will be spent in the office doing design and production work, with regular opportunities to head into shipyards and onboard vessels. Site work includes things like 3D laser scanning, inspections, surveys, data collection, and commissioning support—ideal for someone who likes seeing their designs come to life in the real world.You’ll be involved across the full project cycle, working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams, where collaboration, shared problem-solving, and supporting each other’s success are highly valued.What You’ll Be DoingCreate drawings for new and existing boats and marine equipmentUpdate existing designs to make them safer and easier to buildMake 2D and 3D drawings using CAD softwareWork with engineers to ensure designs can be built and meet rulesPrepare drawings, basic technical details, and cost estimatesHelp check systems, stability, and safety requirementsAssist with propulsion and mechanical system designsProduce drawings and models for manufacturing and installationInspect marine equipment and collect data onboard vesselsHelp with 3D scanning and virtual design reviewsTalk with clients and project teams to understand design needsKeep up to date with current marine technology and regulationsSupport project planning, budgets,
