It enables secure, standardized, and efficient exchange of royalty, regulatory, and operational data across multiple provinces, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders.Petrinex plays a critical role in:Royalty assessment and reportingRegulatory complianceIndustry data exchange and operationsRole Overview We are seeking an experiencedBusiness Consultant (Intermediate)to join theBusiness Analysis and Engagement Team (BAET)within Petrinex. This role requires a highly skilled Business Analyst who can operate effectively in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment, supporting both day‑to‑day system operations and large‑scale project initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), working closely with government, regulators, developers, and industry stakeholders to support system enhancements, testing, training, and engagement activities.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Maintenance & Support (AMS)Analyze, document,
and prioritize system defects and enhancement requestsParticipate in change management discussions with stakeholdersPerform impact analysis and provide recommendationsSupport system users with troubleshooting, guidance, and issue resolutionDevelop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test casesDocument test results and provide sign‑off for production releasesEnsure system functionality aligns with business and regulatory requirementsProject Delivery & Industry ReadinessTranslate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specificationsCollaborate with developers and stakeholders on solution design and implementationParticipate in the full project lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment)Plan and execute UAT and End‑to‑End (E2E) testingDevelop training materials, job aids, and user documentationSupport data migration, validation, and reconciliation activitiesAssist in stakeholder readiness planning and communication strategiesCoordinate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder engagement activitiesStakeholder Engagement & CollaborationAct as liaison between government, regulators, and industry stakeholdersParticipate in industry committees and working groupsGather feedback, identify system improvements,
and communicate updatesSupport change management and adoption initiativesContribute to roadmap planning and future enhancementsEducation (Must meet one of the following)Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field + 2 years BA experience ORDiploma in related field + 4 years BA experience ORCertificate in related field + 5 years BA experience OR6+ years Business Analyst experienceExperience7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise IT environmentsProven experience translating business requirements into technical specifications5+ years of experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including:Test planningTest executionStatus reportingNice‑to‑Have QualificationsExperience creating training materials and technical documentationExperience providing system/application support (data validation, data conversion, troubleshooting)Solid stakeholder engagement experience (internal & external users)Experience working in government or regulated environmentsKnowledge of oil & gas or regulatory reporting systemsCAPPA Certification (Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting)Required SkillsBusiness Analysis & Requirements GatheringUAT Planning & ExecutionStakeholder Management & CommunicationData Validation & Data QualityTechnical & Functional DocumentationChange ManagementProblem‑Solving & Analytical ThinkingAgile / Waterfall MethodologiesTools: JIRA, Confluence, MS Office, Visio (or similar)Work EnvironmentOnsite: 5 days per week (Calgary – AMEC Place)Work Hours: 36.25 hours/weekTravel: Not requiredGovernment‑provided equipment and workspace#J-18808-Ljbffr
